Rather than treating culture, nature, science, art, heritage, and technology as separate domains, the Panocene provides a framework through which different ways of knowing can contribute to a more integrated understanding of our place within the living Earth.

As environmental systems increasingly shape our collective future, cities will also need new ways of making those systems publicly perceptible and meaningful. The Climate Sphere Initiative proposes a globally interconnected network of monumental civic artworks and living public interfaces translating culture, heritage, environmental knowledge, science, art, and artificial intelligence into shared public experience. Each Climate Sphere becomes both a locally rooted civic landmark and a node within a global network of cultural and environmental exchange.

My ambition is not simply to create public artworks, but to help establish a new kind of global civic institution—a living and expanding archive of scientific knowledge, ecological understanding, cultural heritage, environmental experience, and humanity's evolving understanding of its place within the living Earth.
As knowledge and experience accumulate across places, cultures, and generations, each Climate Sphere enriches the network as a whole.
Ultimately, the Climate Sphere Initiative seeks to bring the rhythms of the living Earth into the rhythms of everyday civic life—transforming knowledge into shared understanding, shared understanding into collective action, and collective action into long-term stewardship in response to the climate crisis, biodiversity loss, and the interconnected environmental challenges of our time.
